Keith

Keith is a 3-way speaker with strong bass, able to work in very large rooms, while not being very big themselves.
To allow for better cooperation with the room acoustics we chose to implement a set of 3 bass-reflex tunnels: 1 in the front, and 2 on the back (on different heights). To adjust the the speaker to the room and the taste of the owner the speaker can work in a closed cabinet setting as well as with one, two or three open bass-reflex tunnels.
Closing the bass-reflex we get the following:
1. Less bass in the range supplied by most recordings.
2. More extremely low bass (very rarely present in disc realizations).
3. Improvement of the impulse bass characteristics.
4. Increase of the speaker membrane amplitude in the range typical for most recordings, what increases the amount of non-linear distortion.
Speaker setup:
Recommended listening room size: 20 120m2. For smaller rooms closure of some bass-reflex tunnels should be considered, for rooms larger than 60m2 all should be kept open.
Distance from the walls:
Minimum recommended (counted from the bottom of the front baffle): from the back wall 120cm, from the side walls 120cm.
Speaker torsion:
The speakers should point directly to the listener (experimenting is not recommended).
Recommended listening height height of the tweeter +- 20cm.
The axis of the tweeter should be aimed directly at the listener if possible in range of spike regulation.
