Amstaff Grande
Nowadays design trends tend to produce loudspeakers with narrow front. With large speakers (for bigger rooms) it leads to use 3, 4, or even more small size drivers which dimension is 15-18 cm, or to place large bass driver on the side.
From our experience the first method - a lot of small drivers - has one disadvantage: decreased quality of low bass (caused by limitations of the chassis construction in small drivers, where there is not enough space for optimal chassis work with high deflections).
Second option (bass driver on the side) is not acceptable for us since time distortion.
That's why Amstaff Grande has two 27-centimeter drivers on front. Model is based on mid-range and bass drivers manufactured in Taiwan (aluminium cones, injection moulded metal chassis, high technology magnet systems).
The tweeter is a great metal driver of Norwegian brand Seas. Bass-reflex ports are placed in front, rear, and at different heights, which guarantees easier tuning of the speakers with room acoustics.
Amstaff Grande can play with high sound intensity, sound compression does not show up at normal volumes.
Suggested listening height: tweeter axis + – 20cm.
Suggested listening room size: 30 - 130 m2.
