300B - just as the name suggests - is designed specifically to work with tube amplifiers, and not just those with power over 50W, but also those providing only 7 or 9 watts.
Quite often we can find descriptions of loudspeakers dedicated for tube amplifiers, where a 20-cm driver sports 100dB sensitivity. Of course this is possible, but when you make an audition you can hear that "there is no bass", and when you make measurements you find out that frequency response is 20dB down at 50Hz.
Our 300B has 94 db sensitivity, but such sensitivity is maintained in the whole passband. Impedance is linearized in the frequency range of bass driver's resonance. Thanks to this, the bass softness (a common shortcoming of many tube amps) is largly reduced.
First order crossover is built of top class components: Hovland capacitors and Mills resistors. The impedance is very friendly for amplifiers - real 8 ohms.
Listener's ears should be at the same height as speaker's top wall (or up to 20 cm higher). Recommended room size is from 15 to 50 square meteres.
